Kristan Paynter is a native of Danville Kentucky and was a 2010 graduate of Boyle County High School. While at Boyle County High School, she earned the award for the most artistic student in her class. She was also an athlete with a focus on soccer. Kristan continued her education and soccer career at Eastern Kentucky University, pursuing two years of graphic design and ultimately earning a Bachelor’s Degree in 2014 in General Arts and Studies with a focus in art and psychology. She worked diligently improving many skills as an artist by working with a variety of mediums including acrylics, oils, pencil, charcoal, clay and wood. In addition, Kristan collaborated with other students on a mural that is currently displayed in the EKU science building. Kristan is currently enrolled at the University of the Cumberlands to pursue a Master’s degree in P-12 art education while she continues to pursue her true passion of becoming an artist. Recently Kristan spent fifteen months living and working in Garmisch, Germany fulfilling her dream of traveling and experiencing the many colors of the world. This experience provided her with an abundance of inspiration and was life-changing both mentally and emotionally and has made her more determined and confident in her goal of becoming an accomplished artist.
