On January 23, 2015 the Kentucky State BBQ Festival Foundation, Inc. Committee presented a check in the amount of $28,593.30 to Heart of Kentucky United Way. This represents the amount of money raised by the Festival and Festival-sponsored events and donated to Heart of Kentucky United Way from the 2014 BBQ Festival, held in Danville, KY from Sept. 5-7, 2014.
This was the 4th Ever Kentucky State BBQ Festival and featured 7 celebrity Pitmasters, music, drawings and a raffle, vendors of BBQ related products and services and special events, such as the Art Auction Round-up, the Backyard BBQ Competition, the Smokin’ Butts Bike Ride, Bean Eating and Hog Calling Contests and Kid’s Activities.
The Festival was a smashing success, building on a legacy of making a better and better Festival each year.
The Festival Committee would like to thank our primary sponsors, Pepsi and Lexmark along with Community Trust Bank, Hometown Radio – WHIR 1230 and Z-105, Weldquip, Hampton Inn, Royal Oak Charcoal, Republic Services, State Farm Insurance – Bob Miller, Agent, Pap’s Foods, Orange Cat Productions, Catfish Sound and all of the sponsors that supported the 2014 Festival.
